Old Bones Blues Band Visit
their Website
hereThis is a four-piece band residing in the White Mountains of Northeastern Arizona. Playing blues and classic rock, they have been pleasing crowds since September of 2005. Over 80 years of combined experience and great chemistry has built a strong love of blues. "Hoppy" on Harp (Born April 21, 1947) - Frank "Hoppy" Fick is from everywhere west of the Mississippi. I've been blowing a harp since I was 13 years old. I started playing the blues in 2004, in which "jammin" soon led to the Old Bones Blues Band. "Wobbles" on Guitar/Vocals (Born January 3, 1956) - Craig "Wobbles" Baker started playing guitar at nine years old in Backus, Minnesota. Moved to Shakopee, Minnesota in 1968 and played electric guitar in rock bands. Seeing Johnny Winter at the Guthrie Theater, and seeing Crazy Wolfe, a local Blues band, were life changing experiences. Switched to playing blues until 1974. Had the opportunity to learn blues guitar from Loren Wolfe, and even sat in on bass with the Wolfe Brothers Blues Band. Got bit by the bluegrass bug in 1976 in San Diego, California. Started playing fiddle ,mandolin and acoustic guitar. Joined the Old Time Fiddlers Association and the Bluegrass Association. Jammed at every opportunity at club meetings, festivals and contests. Had the opportunity to jam with Geoff Stelling and Allison Brown. Moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1980 and continued playing bluegrass whenever possible until 1986. From 1986 to 1997 played bass in blues bands in the Phoenix area. Played in Jupiter Street, Redhouse Blues Band, Hans Olsen and the Sun House Band, Buddy Reed and the Rip It Ups and with Matt Roe. Switched back to Bluegrass in 1997 and played guitar in Borderline Bluegrass from 1997 to 1999. Moved to Snowflake, Arizona in 1999 and played bluegrass and Celtic music on acoustic guitar, mandolin and fiddle in The Amazing Ripples until 2004. Switched back to blues in 2005 and currently play electric guitar in The Old Bones Blues Band. Also play acoustic guitar in a new version of the The Amazing Ripples, playing all styles of music. "Doc" on Bass/Vocals (Born December 22, 1951) - Michael "Doc" Snyder-I have been a small town chiropractor for 28 years. Raised by my grandmother, who played with the likes of John Phillip Sousa, and the The Sons of the Pioneers, I played the flute for 30 years before taking up the bass in 2001. I have been with the Old Bones for almost 4 years, and love every minute that I'm with "the boys". "Wammy" on Drums/Vocals (Born August 17,1953) - Reid "Wammy" Bjerken-Originating from Oakland, California, I started playing drums around 10 years of age, with a short stint on tuba. I've played all types of music, leading me to my love of the Blues and Old Bones. Old Bones Blues Band hit the lineup on Saturday at 3:15pm under the tent! View the entire rally schedule here |
